Mikrotec offers you fast access and a quick setup so that you are on the net and ready to go in just moments. How to do this you say? Below are a few simple steps that will aid you in the process. Please, print these instructions out for your future use.

I-Net-Wiz (Internet Connection Wizard):

    1.) Click Start, then click Run
    2.) You will see this box:

    As illustrated, type INETWIZ in the open box (this box is not case sensitive)
    Click Next


    3.) Internet Connection Wizard:

    Once again as illustrated, place the dot in Connect using my phone line, then simply press Next



    4.) Step 1 of 3:

    You will place your local access number in the Telephone Number field. If you are not sure of what number that you would need to dial visit our local access numbers page at http://www.mikrotec.com/support.html?section=accessnumbers

    Note that Use area code and dialing rules is NOT checked. This step is important because this can cause a local number to be charged as long distance.

    Click Next



    5.) Step 2 of 3:

    Insert your unique username and password in the respective boxes. Remember that Mikrotec only allows lower case letters and numbers only!

    You password will appear as all asterisks. (This is only a security feature.)

    Click Next



    6.) Step 3 of 3

    The name in the box will vary depending on the local access number that you have selected. Never the less, click next, this box is not required to be modified.

    Click Next



    7.) Set Up Your Internet Mail Account

    Your userID is also the first part of your Mikrotec e-mail address. Address are commonly (username@mikrotec.com).

    Place the dot in yes or no (depending on your choice) and press next.

    Click Next



    8.) Your Name:

    Type your real name here.
    ie. John Doe

    Click Next



    9.) Internet E-mail Address

    Type your email address here.
    ie (username@mikrotec.com)

    Click Next



    10.) Mail Servers

    Mikrotec's mail server is a POP3 server. (FYI: pop3 stands for post office protocal version 3)

    Both the incoming and outgoing mail server names are pop.mikrotec.com. Make sure the names are all small letters. Also, do not forget your dots between pop and mikrotec.

    Click Next



    11.) Account name and password.

    In this account name box, your userid should already be filled in. Simply click in the password box and type your password. (Usally the same password as your dial-up account)

    Click Next



    12.) Finished!

    You have successfully entered all information that was needed. Your mikrotec connection is now ready for use.

    Click Finish
